in November of 2019,  as a junior in high school, I had the opportunity to attend the journalism education Association's national student media contest in Washington DC. I competed in photography portfolio, a category designed for graduating seniors with the intent of helping them prepare their portfolio for scholarships and post graduation opportunities. with the help of my classmates and journalism advisor, I narrowed my collection of work down to eight photos that I felt reflected my range of talent and displayed my level of expertise. 
below are the images that I submitted for critique. the collection of work received a Superior rating, the highest honor that can be given out at the conference.
